The "Ranger Rivron" hits the open road
Television presenter Rowland Rivron has joined the ranks
of the caravanning fraternity following the purchase of
a new Bailey Ranger.
Rowland collected his distinctive new caravan from his
supplying retailer - Michael Jordan Caravans in Surrey.
Whilst at the depot he received a comprehensive handover
from Sales Director Simon Barnett-Higgins, who spent time
carefully running through the operation of the Bailey Ranger.
Once the necessary paperwork had been completed Rowland
then visited the on-site store to purchase all the necessary
caravanning accessories, and once this was all loaded aboard
it was a case of hitching up and hitting the open road.
The Rivron's are now planning to take their caravan on
its first outing for a familiarisation weekend on a local
Caravan Club site, before setting off for their main holiday
to the South of France in July.
Bailey very much enjoyed working with Rowland and his family
on the design of their unique caravan and now looks forward
to receiving the entries to the recently launched My Bailey
Van Caravan Design Competition. This promotion will not
only provide one owner with a wonderful prize, a fully operational
caravan of their own design, but it will also give Bailey
a very useful insight into what caravanners are looking
for in a new tourer.
NB: It should be noted that, with the exception of the
production of the Ranger Rivron and the winning entry in
the My Bailey Van Design Competition, Bailey will not deviate
from standard specification when manufacturing its touring
caravan product range

"Ranger Rivron" debuts at the NEC
The one of a kind Ranger Rivron made its dramatic debut
during the recent National Boat Caravan & Outdoor Show
at the NEC.
This unique model has been built very much with the specific
requirements of the Rivron family in mind and, as one might
expect, the design featured many creative touches that distinguish
it from a current production model.
Outside 'sea foam' aluminium panels combined with white
plastic panels and trim to give the caravan a retro look.
Whilst inside the family chose a brightly coloured striped
fabric which combined with rubber flooring and wooden Venetian
blinds to give a clean contemporary feel.
As the caravan will be used primarily in the South of France
it was specified to suit, including items such as the Dometic
roof mounted air conditioning unit and an Omnistor retractable
awning.
There was also consideration given to practical issues,
with a larger kitchen window and exterior clip on Thule
table facilitating al-fresco dining and sand traps were
installed at ground level to assist with sweeping the caravan
floor.
Commenting on the design Rowland said "This caravan
has our name written all over it!"
"We're over the moon with the result and can't wait
for the first holiday in our new caravan later this year"
Bailey very much enjoyed working with Rowland and Monica
on the design of their caravan and now looks forward to
receiving the entries to the recently launched My Bailey
Van Caravan Design Competition. This promotion will not
only provide one owner with a wonderful prize, but it will
also give Bailey a very useful insight into what caravanners

Rowland's "Ranger Rivron"
Television presenter Rowland Rivron has joined the ranks
of the caravanning fraternity following the purchase of
a new Bailey Ranger.

Rowland fine tunes his final caravan design with
Bailey's Andi Linklater (Technical and Design Manager)
and Simon Howard (Marketing Director).
|
Rowland's first experience of caravanning was six years
ago, ironically enough in a Bailey Ranger, when he was a
presenting a feature for the BBC's Holiday programme. The
Rivron family enjoyed the experience so much that they have
since been on many caravan holidays together and are now
fully signed up members of The Caravan Club.
This year they have decided to take the plunge and purchase
their first caravan. Of the variety of models that they
have tested the Rivron's felt that the Ranger 620/6 layout
best fitted their requirements. However as they caravan
exclusively in the South of France the family asked if it
could be modified for summer only touring to their particular
specification.
Whilst in normal circumstances Bailey will not deviate
from standard specification when manufacturing its touring
caravan product range, it was clear from the outset that
the family had very clear ideas on how they wanted the standard
caravan tailored to suit their specific holidaying requirements.
Consequently, using the sort of expertise gained in producing
The Caravan Club's Caravan of the Future proto type, Bailey
agreed to take the project on.
The finished article, now affectionately known as the "Ranger
Rivron", will be on display on the Bailey stand (Hall
5 Stand Number 5292) at The National Boat Caravan &
Outdoor Leisure Show on Friday 22nd February. Rowland and
his family will collect the keys to this, their first caravan,
at 1.30pm on that date.
Following the success of this exercise Bailey, in conjunction
with The Caravan Club, has decided to give Club members
the opportunity to win a caravan of their own design in
a new competition entitled "My Bailey Van".
This competition will not only provide one owner with a
wonderful prize, but it will also give Bailey a very useful
insight into what caravanners are looking for in a new tourer.
